We will start by taking a look at the table:

When you click on the icon, you will see the following screen:

You can choose between the following statuses:

CP_ico_active_account_EN.png ACTIVE Account is working correctly
CP_ico_active_partial_lock_EN.png PARTIAL LOCK Account will still receive emails but it will not be accessible
CP_ico_active_full_lock_EN.png FULL LOCK Account will not receive emails or be accessible

[edit] Info

You will be able to see the connection settings of your account by clicking on CP_ico_infos_email_accounts.png

As you can see, the information will be displayed in a really straight forward way in order for you to be able to set up your mail account in your mail application easily:

[edit] Alias

You will be to add aliases to your mail account from this section. An alias allows to add another email address to your email account. In the example, we have created an account with the address test.account@domain.co.uk. If we want that account to receive emails sent to test@domain.co.uk, we will only need to add test as an alias to the account.

[edit] Forwarding

This will allow you redirect all the messages sent to all the email addresses of the account to an external account. You would only need to enter the email address in the box and click on Add.

Please note that if you want the messages to be copied on your package account, you will need to click on Leave a copy on the server or the emails will not be stored on your account.

If you get This account cannot be forwarded as it is acting as the catch-all alias from this section, it means that the account has been assigned the catch-all alias, so the system will not allow it to be forwarded.

If you activate a mail forward to an external account, you will not to be able to set the account as the receipt for email sent to all the undefined email addresses. We have enforced this decision to avoid relaying SPAM through our servers.

You will still be able to set up different alias and a forward for the same email account, but not the catch-all account and a forward.

[edit] Connection settings

Finally, you will be able to set up the connection parameters:

This will allow you to activate the SSL layer to the mail protocols (SMTP, POP3 and IMAP4) and let you know what port you should be using for the connection.

[edit] Full name

This is the full name you assigned to the account at the moment of creation and has no more meaning than to order and organise the mail accounts.

[edit] Auto reply

You can use this option if you are will not be able to check your email account or you want to send an automatic message to all incoming emails:

CP_Mail_Add_an_account_step_04_03_EN.jpg

Just check the box on the right hand side of Activate automatic reply and enter the subject and message you want to have automatically sent.

You can also set up the period of time for the auto reply to be activated, by selecting the Delayed Activation option and entering the dates.

[edit] Catch-all

The catch-all alias assigns all the undefined addresses for a domain to an account, that is, the account which has been flagged as the catch-all will receive all the mails sent to addresses at the domain that have not been created (as a mail account, alias or group / forward).

For example: If we have a domain called domain.co.uk with 2 mail accounts, john@domain.co.uk and sales@domain.co.uk, and we set up john@domain.co.uk as the catch-all account for the domain:

  • sales@domain.co.uk will get emails sent to sales@domain.co.uk
  • john@domain.co.uk will get everything else (not only messages sent to john@domain.co.uk but also all the messages that are sent to anything but sales@domain.co.uk).

By clicking on the Yes / No link you will set or unset the catch-all alias on the account.

This column will say Not available when the account is forwarded to an external address:

If you activate the catch-all alias for a mail account, you will not be able to forward that account to an external address. We have enforced this decision to avoid relaying SPAM through our servers.

You will still be able to set up different alias and a forward for the same email account, but not the catch-all account and a forward.

[edit] Space used

Space used by the mail account out of the total space allocated for it.

[edit] Drop-down menu

You will also be able to do some of the operations discussed above using the drop-down menu. Just tick the box on the right hand side of the account you want to work with and click on the appropriate option of the menu:
